3 image gauche montage

3 Image Gauche Montage. I am really happy with the way this turned out. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I enjoyed seeing my work and time go towards something at least interesting. I liked the colors I chose and I liked the pick-out technique on the lighthouse and anchor. As Rusty said, my anchor is a little noodly, but I am going to try very hard to make sure my next one is "crisp". I would really like to hear that word with one of my pieces of work. One reason I worked so hard on this piece was because the images are very interesting to me. I am so excited to start the next one, as well as the postcard.

The Things I am Not So Proud of--

The first piece, tattoo girl, was me trying to get a grip on the watercolors. I didn't understand the loose technique at all! I was very controlling and things didn't work well. These were my trial and error pieces. They definitely caused me some trials and are definitely filled with errors but I learned so much!

AHHHH! First pick-out technique went terrible wrong! I learned what NOT to do.
A picture of me. Yes, my head looks squished but I have fun trying to do something I know so well-- my face-- because the mistakes stand out very much to me.

Pick-out technique. I went with a more abstract view on this. I really do like the way this tuned out but I don't think I accomplished the technique Rusty wanted us to master.

Watercolor Techniques

New Watercolors

I really enjoyed doing some of these. The pomegranates took longer due to to all the small seeds. My favorite of these is the antique photo replica. I liked being able to apply my own color. I also liked doing the 10 watercolors with the watercolor techniques. It was relaxing and I learned a lot from that project about watercolors and how they work.
