8.5 x 11 in Line Pen Drawing


For this illustration I didn't use the artograph, but used my laptop screen to get accurate proportions. Then I went in and starting the hatch marks. I think the illustration turned out fairly well. I agree with Rusty about adding more value around the feet and in a few other places. I think that it would be very beneficial to the piece as a whole. Again, I learned a lot from this exercise. Learning techniques in this slow process really have helped me get more aquatinted with this concept of art. I did this particular illustration on marker paper. I used matte paper before and the sharpie markers tended to not work as well. On this assignment I used a micron pen instead of sharpie because I felt like the sharpie tip would be too thick for the hatch marks.
